Prescription Line Changes

 

We are pleased to announce that we have removed the 2pm restriction on our prescription line (option 1 on the telephone system). This is partly because our new telephone system enables the calls to be prioritised from both queues by giving receptionists visibility of how many patients are waiting but has also been made possible thanks to the large number of patients who use the NHS App to order medications now. This has reduced call volumes to a level where we can now safely handle those calls throughout the day.

The telephones are always busy on a morning however, and we will prioritise patients who are ringing for appointments or more urgent matters so please be prepared to wait if you are ordering medication in the morning. We will monitor how well this works over the coming weeks to ensure that calls are being answered in an appropriate timeframe.
