The Autumn Flu and Covid vaccination campaign will be different from previous years. Arrangements for patients aged 75 and over differ from those aged 74 and below.
Patients aged 75 and over and those with compromised immune systems:
In Autumn 2025, Covid vaccine boosters will only be offered to patients aged 75 and over and those with compromised immune systems. These patients are also eligible for a seasonal flu vaccination. To provide a more convenient and efficient way of delivering two vaccines to this large group of patients we are working collaboratively with our neighbouring practices via our Federation, Hadrian Primary Care Alliance, to co-administer Flu and Covid vaccines at the same time in large scale clinics based in Hexham and Prudhoe. Clinic appointments for this cohort of patients should be booked via the Covid National Booking System which opens for patient bookings on 1st September 2025.
The appointments can be booked by following this link: click here or by calling NHS 119.
Most eligible patients will have used this system for their Spring boosters earlier this year. Clinics will be held every Saturday in October at Sele Medical Group in Hexham and on Wednesdays in October at Prudhoe Waterworld. You will be given a seasonal flu vaccination and a Covid vaccination at the same time. Please select the ‘Flu and COVID’ appointment option when booking online or request this when calling NHS 119.
Patients aged 65 to 74 and those younger patients with long term conditions:
Patients who are aged 65 to 74 and those under 65s with long term conditions such as asthma or diabetes will only be eligible for seasonal flu vaccination this Autumn and should arrange an appointment in one of our vaccination clinics at Corbridge Health Centre. A large scale fast track-clinic will be held on Saturday 4th October and text messages with a booking link will be sent out to eligible patients during September or you can book your appointment by calling reception after 1st September 2025.
Pregnant ladies, patients with learning disabilities, carers and those with BMI over 40 are also eligible and will be invited to our clinics.
Children aged 2-3
Children aged 2-3 will be eligible for a nasal flu spray and parents/guardians will be sent a text message with a booking link to arrange an appointment in one of our clinics.
Housebound Patients
Housebound patients will be contacted during September to explain the process for having these vaccinations at home. If you have not heard from us by the end of September please contact the surgery and we will add you to our list if appropriate.
Please note that we cannot give Covid vaccinations at the clinics held in Corbridge and we are supplying the over 74s’ flu vaccine to Hadrian Primary Care Alliance in the expectation that you will have the two vaccines co-administered by them. We recommend that you have both together. If you prefer to have only a flu vaccine we will book you into a Corbridge flu clinic but preference will be given to the under 75s initially.
