Contraceptive advice is available from any of our GPs and there are lots of options available.
The Contraceptive Pill is available on prescription and we ask that you make an appointment with one of our practice nurses on an annual basis to have your BMI and Blood Pressure checked.
The Contraceptive Depo Injection is also available by appointment with one of our practice nurses usually on a 12 weekly basis after the initial prescription has been arranged by a GP. If you miss your appointment or pass the 12 week interval please make an appointment with a GP to ensure that it is safe for them to continue to prescribe the injection for you.
Dr Willins is trained to fit Contraceptive Coils and you will need to arrange a routine appointment with Dr Willins if you are interested in this option. We run a monthly family planning clinic for these procedures and we will arrange an appointment for ladies who have had the initial counselling with Dr Willins and also for those who require coil removal or re-placement.
