Corbridge Medical Group

Patient rights and responsibilities

We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times and expect our patients to treat our staff in a similarly respectful way. It is your responsibility to keep your appointments, inform us of your past illnesses, medication, hospital admissions and any other relevant details.

If you are unable to attend for a pre-arranged appointment, please ring as soon as possible to let us know so that we can offer the appointment to other patients. Even half an hour’s notice can be sufficient to enable another patient to be seen.

If you arrive late for your appointment it may not be possible for the Doctor or Nurse to see you (depending on how late you are) and the receptionist may ask you to re-arrange the appointment for another time.

Our surgeries do run late from time to time and we will do our best to inform patients when this happens. However, in order to help us with this, please consider booking a double appointment if you feel you need longer than 15 minutes with the doctor or if you have more than one medical problem to discuss.

Some issues can be dealt with by telephone and we have pre-bookable telephone appointments available for this purpose.
